How did you and Wes meet?
We met in college at Framingham State University in 2011, he helped me move into my dorm room. We didn't start dating until Valentine's Day 2012.
How did he propose?
We were in Philadelphia at the time. He was actually carrying the ring around in his pocket 2 days to find the right moment to propose and then finally on that Sunday morning around 9am before we took our flight back home, we decided to take one last walk around the area. There was legitimately no one outside it was just us and a handful of people walking by every now and then. We were actually trying to take pictures in front of the "AMOR" sign - which is the alternative "LOVE" Park photo. Love Park was closed at the time...
..A few people stopped to help us take our photo on our professional camera, and then all of a sudden this lady who happened to be a professional photographer ended up stopping to help us out and she basically gave us a full photo shoot. When I thought we were done taking photos - he said, "I actually have one more photo I would like to do." So I'm just trying to get myself together to take the next photo, and then all of a sudden I see this lady jumping around with the camera to capture all the shots, I turn around, there was a crowd of people and he's down on one knee and I just cried. It was a complete surprise. It also turns out that on the day he proposed, September 10th, 2017, was exactly 1 year from the day I caught the bouquet at my friends wedding. To this day he still won't tell me if that moment was planned or if there was just an angel on his side.
What did you love about planning your wedding?
Ultimately I just loved planning the whole thing and just making the day about me and my spouse. I just loved picking out all the fine details like the music and wedding favors, menus, table settings, I loved it all!
How did you choose your dress?
I’ve had a Pinterest board saved for years on what I thought My Wedding dress would look like. It consisted of either mermaid or ballgowns, and what those two things had in common was lots of sparkle. I knew that Giggi’s bridal was the right place given their reputation carrying dresses with a lot of sparkle. Before making a stop at Giggi’s I actually ended up purchasing a dress from another bridal salon and instantly had buyer's remorse.. But when I went to Giggi‘s and put on that Evelyn dress, I knew that this was my dress. It literally took my favorite parts of every dress I’ve ever come across and loved and had it all in one.
What's your favorite, most memorable wedding moment?
I loved everything about my wedding, I wish I could relive that night over and over. It’s really hard just to pick one thing. I would have to say the most memorable thing for me was walking down the aisle.
Congratulations, Jasmine and Wes! We wish you nothing short of a lifetime of love and happiness!
