At Evelyn Bridal, our wedding gowns are not just dresses—they are timeless pieces of art created with passion and precision. Behind every exquisite stitch and elegant silhouette is the vision and talent of our incredible wedding dress designer, Kelsey. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to the creative force driving our brand’s exceptional designs!

Q: What inspires your creative process when designing each new bridal collection, and how do you maintain freshness and innovation season after season?

A: My primary inspiration comes from a commitment to inclusivity and customization. The essence of our brand is to create wedding dresses that every bride can feel confident and beautiful in, without a prohibitive price tag. We aim to make elegant, accessible dresses for all body types. To keep our collections fresh and innovative, I engage in extensive market research to stay on top of current and upcoming bridal fashion trends. By analyzing what's trending and predicting future trends, especially those influenced by celebrity fashion, I ensure that our designs remain relevant and desirable. What a celebrity wears today often sets the tone for what brides will be eager to wear in the months to come.

Q: Can you describe your design process? How do you transform an initial concept into a completed wedding dress?

A: My design process begins with inspiration, which often comes from a variety of sources such as art, nature, and cultural elements. Once I have a spark of inspiration, I immediately put pencil to paper and sketch out the idea. I love the process of turning a thought in my head into a visual representation. After sketching, the next step involves collaborating with my team to assess the feasibility of the design. This includes considering how to structure the dress to ensure it fits perfectly and elegantly on a real person. We go through a lot of trial and error in this phase, experimenting with different materials and techniques to bring the concept to life. The journey from an initial idea to a finished dress involves a blend of creativity, practicality, and teamwork.

Q: Is there a specific era or style you’re eager to explore for a new bridal collection that you haven’t yet?

A: We haven’t fully ventured into designing short dresses or reception dresses, and that's an era I’m particularly excited about. In fashion, trends often make a resurgence, and this cyclical nature is evident in bridal fashion as well. It’s fascinating to see how designs that were popular years ago come back into vogue. For instance, a wedding dress style that my stepmom wore ten years ago is now making a comeback. Embracing these trends and incorporating them into our collections allows us to offer brides a blend of contemporary and nostalgic elegance.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of the wedding dress design process? Is it the initial sketching, selecting fabrics, or seeing the first sample come to life?

A: My favorite part of the design process is undoubtedly seeing the first sample and making those crucial tweaks to perfect the design. It's incredibly satisfying to witness the dress take shape and to make adjustments that bring it closer to our vision. This stage allows me to refine and adapt my ideas, ensuring that the final product is exactly what we want it to be.

Q: What is one essential piece of advice you would give to every bride before they begin their wedding dress search?

A: Every bride should try on a wide variety of dress styles. You might be convinced that a ball gown is your dream dress, but it’s important to try on different styles because you might be surprised by what you actually fall in love with. Don’t get fixated on a specific brand (not even ours!). Experiment with various designs and really feel the dress to make an informed decision that you’ll be happy with on your special day.

Q: What emotions and experiences do you wish to evoke in brides wearing an Evelyn Bridal dress?

A: There’s a popular TikTok trend where people say they’ll never look as stunning as they did on their wedding day. I want every bride wearing an Evelyn Bridal dress to feel absolutely on top of the world. Their dress should be the last thing they worry about on their special day. They should feel confident, knowing they look gorgeous and that their dress will support them and stay impeccable throughout the day. My goal is for them to feel genuinely good and radiant.

Q: What’s on the horizon for Evelyn Bridal? Any exciting new projects or ideas in development?

A: We’re thrilled to announce that we’re incorporating more structure into every dress with a built-in bodysuit and hidden boning to ensure all brides feel secure and confident. Additionally, we’re committed to expanding our lines and taking creative risks. This includes designing innovative two-piece dresses, short dresses, and reception dresses. Our goal is to offer a wider variety of styles that cater to every bride’s unique vision and needs.

Q: How would you describe the essence of Evelyn Bridal’s style in just three words?

A: If I had to distill Evelyn Bridal’s style into three words, they would be: timeless, inclusive, and exciting. These words capture the elegance and enduring appeal of our designs, our commitment to creating dresses for every bride, and the thrill of bringing innovative and fresh ideas to bridal fashion.

We hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse into the creative world of our talented designer! Her passion for inclusivity, innovation, and timeless elegance truly sets our brand apart.
